In this book, Patty Gray explores the reasons why the 'indigenous rights movement' of the Chukotko people of the Russian Far North has been unsuccessful. She argues that the movement is a continuation of Soviet tendencies rather than something comparable to Native Rights movements in the Russian Far North.
