Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals

After thirty years' research, during which he consulted missionaries, doctors and photographers from around the world, Charles Darwin (1809–1882) published this monograph in 1872. Drawing on his work on evolution, it represents the earliest systematic investigation into the shared features of human and animal expression.
