The Cornish Widow

A cosy historical mystery that opens a series about a sleuth who witnesses a murder in her dreams and can't make anyone believe it. 1920s Cornwall, an accused woman on the run and a heroine whose own past is a locked room.

Her dreams reveal everything, yet she’s powerless to change what’s coming.

Connie Maxwell harbours a secret. Though broken in body, her spirit roams free. Dreamwalking might be a gift if only she could control it. But there’s a vast difference between drifting along the Cornish Coast and witnessing a murder, especially when she can’t change its course.

Annie Hearn has vanished after the suspicious death of her neighbour, with authorities closing in. In a county consumed by a desire for justice, Connie alone believes in her innocence.

With time rapidly diminishing, a chance encounter draws darkness to Connie’s doorstep. Nothing is as it appears, and Connie’s own past remains an ever-shifting enigma.

The Cornish Widow introduces readers to Jacqueline Beard’s captivating Constance Maxwell Dreamwalker Mysteries, the first in a series that blends atmospheric historical cosy mystery with a supernatural twist. Readers who love complex heroines with extraordinary abilities will be instantly drawn into Connie’s world.
