The Perfectionist Turn

In "Perfectionist Turn," author Douglas Den Uyl presents a thought-provoking exploration of contemporary political philosophy. Published by Edinburgh University Press in 2017, this 304-page book critiques the prevailing trends in ethical thought, particularly those championed by influential figures like Martha Nussbaum, John Rawls, and Amartya Sen. Den Uyl, along with co-author Rasmussen, boldly shifts the conversation away from traditional liberalism towards what they term 'individualistic perfectionism.' This innovative perspective offers readers a fresh lens through which to examine ethical frameworks and encourages a deeper understanding of moral philosophy. Ideal for scholars and enthusiasts alike, "Perfectionist Turn" invites you to rethink the foundations of ethics in our modern world.
